<p>Various programmes have been implemented over time to minimise automotive emissions, which are a major source of air pollutants including ozone and particulate matter (PM). The implementation of Euro 6 emission regulations, the Vehicular Emissions Scheme (VES) for automobiles and cabs, the ETS for current Cat C commercial motor vehicles, and the strengthening of in-use emission requirements are a few of these measures. <h3>Commercial Vehicle Emissions Scheme (CVES)</h3>

<p>According to the CVES, LGVs are categorised into Bands A, B, or C based on which pollutant among carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and particulates (PM) performs the worst. In order to combat climate change, enhance ambient air quality, and safeguard public health, customers are urged to select vehicles that have fewer emissions across the board.</p>
<p>Incentives are available to encourage the adoption of eco-friendly vehicles. Owners of Band A vehicles will receive equal annual installments of $10,000 for three years, amounting to a total of $30,000. If you register a Band B car, you will receive an upfront bonus of $10,000. Additionally, registering a Band C vehicle will attract a premium of $10,000.</p>

<h3>EV Early Adoption Incentive (EEAI)</h3>
<p>Newly registered electric vehicles and taxis will be eligible for a 45 percent reduction in the Additional Registration Fee (ARF), up to a maximum of $20,000, from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2023. Starting from 1 January 2022 to 31 December 20 Additional Registration Fee (ARF) floor has been significantly reduced by the government from $5,000 to $0. This measure aims to significantly lower the initial cost of operating an electric vehicle or taxi.</p>

<h3>Enhanced Vehicular Emissions Scheme (VES)</h3>
<p>The refunds for vehicles in Bands A1 and A2 will rise by $5,000 for autos and $7,500 for taxis from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2023. Band A1 vehicles will receive a $25,000 rebate, while Band A2 vehicles will receive a $15,000 reimbursement.</p>

<h3>Enhanced Early Turnover Scheme (ETS)</h3>
<p>In 2013, we implemented the Early Turnover Scheme (ETS) to encourage the early conversion of Pre-Euro and Euro 1 Category C diesel cars to newer and cleaner versions. In 2015, we expanded the Early Turnover Scheme (ETS) by offering additional incentives for switching to Euro 6 (or equivalent) models, to include Euro 2 and 3 Category C diesel cars. As of December 31, 2019, the programme had replaced around 47,000 polluting automobiles early.</p>
<p>The ETS incentive will be available for used Euro 4 Cat C diesel cars. The number of ETS-eligible cars will more than treble from about 22,000 to over 63,000 as a result. If they replace their current cars with a Euro 6 (or comparable) LGV categorised in Band A or B of the CVES, current owners of Euro 2/3/4 Cat C diesel vehicles will qualify for both ETS and CVES incentives.</p>
<p>Owners who replace an existing Euro 2/3/4 Cat C diesel vehicle with a Band C LGV will not qualify, in order to promote the switch to cleaner options. The largest incentives are available to HGV owners who switch from their current Cat C diesel vehicle to an HGV with zero tailpipe emissions.</p>
